Registration & Class Guidelines

Consider joining TGAA- you save on class fees!!! Support the fine arts with a TGAA membership. Members save $20 on each class. All membership fees are for one year.
Student- $20 Basic- $40
Patron- $75 Sponsor- $150
Payment must accompany registration (non-member fee in parenthesis)
Registration is not complete without payment. We accept cash, credit and personal checks made payable to Tall Grass Arts Association. Phone registrations with Mastercard or Visa accepted.
Refunds: will be made only if the class is cancelled, or if registrant cancels at least one week before the first class. No refund after class begins.
Cancellation: If there is insufficent enrollment, TGAA reserves the right to cancel any class. Minimum enrollment for most classes is five (5). You will receive notification of cancellation.

Beginning and advanced students explore drawings and paintings using charcoal, pen, and ink, pencil, pastel, and watercolors. One session includes drawing and painting from a model. Art history will be part of the curriculum.

A wide range of possibilities for beginning/intermediate adult students. Landscapes, interiors, florals, still life and more. Design, color, traditional approaches are explored.

Try it, you'll like it. What could be easier! You can learn to draw and paint. Join our friendly group, have fun and awaken your creative self. Instructor is an Illinois Certified Art Teacher and individual instruction is emphasized. All skill levels are welcome. Please bring a drawing tablet, with pencils and eraser to your first class. NEW CLASS!!! Color and Composition (Color Theory)-Basic to Advanced Instructor Tim Vitek- 5 Weeks
This class will provide the student a practical foundation for
understanding color theory concepts by composing with primary, secondary
and tertiary color sequences. Students will be given the opportunity to
use these theories in exercises given throughout the course. You will get a class supply list upon registration.

Knitting Beginners to Advanced- Instructor Ginny Kurowski/ 4 Week Class
If you are a beginner, learn this time honored craft with the basics. Or if you are stuck and need instruction on continue that project...there's help in this class! Bring one pair size 8 knitting needles and 1 skein worsted weight yarn #4.

Digital Photography Beginning & Intermediate- Teaching artist- Rodger Paris/ 5 Week Class
Class in photography will include a session of photographing in the field, and shooting events (weather permitting), Students should bring a digital camera with flash to class.

Open Studio for Figure Drawing-No Instructor- Model provided
The life drawing studio has been increased to twice a month on Sunday afternoons from 3-5pm. These sessions are on the first and third Sundays of each month. We hire a model. Artists are invited to bring materials and practice drawing the human form from life. No Instructor- this is a self- guided class that begins with gesture poses and then moves into longer poses.
18 years and Older Su 3-5pm $10/per session 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month
Open Studio- No Instructor
On Wednesday afternoons and most Friday evenings we have an open studio. Bring your projects to work on while conversing and learning from fellow artists. Gallery openings (both at Tall Grass and elsewhere) can cause Friday sessions to be canceled. Call earlier in the week to determine if the open studio will occur on that Friday.
